SOILWORK Frontman Joins Blues Band
January 4, 2006SOILWORK vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"I've joined a blues band that I'm jamming with one or two times a week. I've always wanted to try out something like that — no side project; just a jam you can do when you have the time. It was a kick and a challenge to sing something different and I'm sure I can develop my voice playing around with it, singing the blues.. We're playing songs by STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN, BUDDY GUY, JOHNNY LANG, CLAPTON etc. Before someone says it, no, I will not turn myself and SOILWORK into a blues band... Just having fun... Other than that, working on a replacement for Peter [Wichers, guitar]... I'm sure we'll make a decision soon."
Upcoming SOILWORK shows:
Mar. 02 - Budapest, HUN @ Petofi Hall
Mar. 03 - Zlin, CZR @ Hala Novesta
Mar. 04 - Katowice, POL @ Spodek
Jun. 03 - Gelsenkirchen, GER @ Rock Hard Festival
Aug. 3-5 – Wacken. GER @ Wacken Open Air
SOILWORK's latest CD, "Stabbing the Drama", is available now on Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Figure Number Five" was recorded at Fascination Street studios in Örebro and Dug-Out Productions in Uppsala, Sweden with producer Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STUCK MOJO).
